Being the third-year philosophy major/neuroscience concentrator from Grinnell College that I am, I’ve decided to study abroad at Jouchi diagaku right in the heart of Tokyo, about a 5 minute walk from Yotsuya station. For the time being, I’ll be studying Japanese language, linguistics, and eastern philosophy, while at the same time trying to look less like a tourist than the guy next to me.
It’s an exciting time to be alive, but it helps hearing from friends and family back home. It’s rough being separated from the only things I’ve known during my 21 years of life, so if you have any responses or comments to make, please do so! I’ll do my best to respond back whenever my homestay family stops guarding the internet as though it were a precious metal.
